Due to its lightweight material composition, it is not heat-compatible with studio monolights or heads using hot high-wattage halogen modeling lamps (like the Profoto D2 1000W or Pro heads).

A: The primary differences are weight and heat tolerance. OCF softboxes are built with featherlight materials and quick-mount rubber speedrings optimized for portable location work, but can only handle the low heat of LED modeling lamps. RFi softboxes are heavier, heavily reinforced studio modifiers built to withstand the intense thermal output of high-wattage halogen modeling lamps.

Q: Can I mount this OCF softbox onto a Profoto D2 1000W monolight?
A: No. We strictly advise against using OCF modifiers on the Profoto D2 series or studio lamp heads featuring 300W/600W halogen modeling lamps. The continuous high heat can scorch or melt the lightweight OCF fabrics. For the D2, please rent our Profoto RFi 3′ Octa softbox instead.
